My mother always used to say: ‘Take a hanky, just in case…’ There are so many reasons to carry a handkerchief with you: obviously you can use it to clean your nose, but also to tie a knot in as a reminder, to wave as a white flag for peace, to use as a bandage if someone gets hurt… Just in case.
