stone, 2024
I went looking for boulders roughly the size of bowling balls. Some are marbled, just like bowling balls. They all have different colors.
I make three holes in them for grips. Putting your fingers in the holes feels pleasant; you get close to the core of such a heavy stone. The stone evokes the natural and static, the inanimate... the holes represent culture, action, and movement.
The resulting image refers to a bowling ball, thus to
dynamism and life, but also to the static, death.
